This is the family of a power lineman that worked with my dad at Florida Power & Light. My dad had borrowed this fellows 8mm camera to make some of our own movies. The friend had loaded the camera with film for my dad but apparently had done a little filming of his own before giving it to my father. This is some old 8 mm movie footage taken at my family home in Van Nuys, Ca about 1955. I'm the blond headed kid at the end who can't dance and is playing with the erector set. The family was celebrating the arrival of a fantastic new luxury, a 45 RPM record player. Seven of us in three generations lived in a 3 Br, 1 Bath house with 1100 square feet. Life was a little simpler, and perhaps happier, back then. Music be Kevin MacLeod.
